Common Event FAQs
Q: Do you have extra tables?
A: Yes we have extra cafeteria style tables and the plastic folding tables for catering use. Please inquire for how many we have.
Q: Can I bring non-alcoholic options for adults and kids?
A: Yes! non-alcoholic drinks are allowed. Our taproom also offers NA options and filtered water
Q: How much parking is available?
A: Our parking lot has about 20 spaces. Additional street parking is available on neighboring streets. We do have permission to use a 50 space parking lot one block down the road if requested. Please let us know if more event parking is needed for additional options!
Q: Can I bring outside food?
A: Yes! Outside food is welcome. We have catering tables for your use. We allow chaffing dishes and crockpot/hotplates to keep your food warm.
Q: Do you have preferred catering?
A: No, you are welcome to work with whoever you like. Any outside catering will be required to set up and breakdown as part of their service. We will not be able to store their supplies. Please ask them to remove everything once the event concludes. If there is significant amount of food left and is unwanted, please let staff know so we can dispose of it properly without making the trash cans too heavy. Or, we will gladly take some home for lunches.
Q: Can I bring a food truck for my event?
A: We do have a permanent food truck partner, Cold Friends Kitchen. Alternate food truck bookings are only available with a full buyout.
Q: What drink packages do you have?
A: We don’t have set drink packages per se. The following are options available:
- Open Bar - Open a tab using a credit card and our bartenders will keep track of what your guests are drinking. There will be a 20% auto-gratuity on the tab at the end of the event. We do have wrist bands to keep track of your guests if needed.
- Drink Tickets - Open a tab using a credit card and any drink tickets turned in will get added to your tab. We do provide drink tickets, just tell us how many and we can have them ready for you. You can always add more; and if you don’t use all of the ones requested, you will only get charged for the ones used. There will be a 20% auto-gratuity on the tab at the end of the event.
Q: Do you provide cups, plates, utensils and napkins?
A: We have water cups available. If cups are necessary for your event, please bring them with you. We do not have plates, utensils or napkins; you will have to bring them in or request your caterer to provide them.
Q: Is there cold storage for my food/cake? Do you have a freezer?
A: We do have a large walk-in cooler that can be used to store a cake or food for the event day. We do not have any freezer space.
Q: Are you kid friendly? Is there a cut off time for kids?
A: Yes we are kid friendly! There is no cut off time for kiddos but we require them to be always supervised by an adult over 25 years old. This includes escorting them to the restroom.
Q: Does the arcade take quarters or tokens?
A: The arcade takes tokens. Token machines are available that take small bills and credit cards. ATM machine is also available. We can set the arcade on ‘Free Play’ or we can pre-allocate tokens prior to your event upon request. See prices for this on the Events at Velum sheet.
Q: Do you have available electricity?
A: Yes we do! We have available outlets and extension cords. Let us know what your event needs so we can have it ready.
Q: Do you have an ADA entrance?
A: Yes! The ADA entrance is at 2141 Mary Street; our shared entrance with Ascend Climbing gym.
Q: Do you have chairs for my elderly family members?
A: Yes! We have a few options of padded chairs with and without arms for ease of use.
Q: Can I bring a playlist?
A: Yes! Spotify and Youtube playlists are accepted. Please make them public so we can find the playlist. All music must be family friendly and mild (no death metal unless a full buyout - we apologize to all the metal heads out there!)
Q: Do you have mic/speaker?
A: Yes! Available upon request.
Q: Can I host a presentation?
A: Yes! We have a mobile 86" TV with HDMI ports for presentation use instead of a projector. If you have a Mac computer, please bring the appropriate dongle converter for HDMI use.
